Moeen Ali opts out of PSL 2 perform pilgrimage to Mecca

All-rounder Moeen Ali was picked up by Quetta Gladiators in the PSL T20 subsidiary draft on Monday, as a replacement of West Indian Brathwaite. But few day later Quetta Gladiators announced that Moeen had opted out  Participating  the tournament for personal reasons. Moeen Ali England all-rounder going for pilgrimage to Mecca with his family over participating in the second season of the (PSL).

Moeen Ali is a quality player with great personality,” the franchise said they respect his decision his family commitment first. Moeen currently with National squad playing against India. Moeen Ali has played 49 One-Day Internationals 19 Twenty20 Internationals 37 Tests, for the England side. participating in T20 tournaments is not his top-most priority. Last year, he opted out of the Indian Premier League auction after putting his name due to expressing workload concerns.

The franchise was aware of Moen’s switch of plans on 24 January and have roped in experienced Brad Hodge as the all rounder replacement. The Gladiators boosted by the addition of Hodge, last year he played for Peshawar Zalmi. Hodge showed great performance in the Big Bash League for Adelaide Strikers. In eight matches averaging over 40 with a strike-rate in excess of 131 he scored 286 runs

As England’s main spin-bowling all rounder, he played 41 matches for national side in all three formats in 2016, including 17 Test matches. There is lot of series waiting for England in 2017, England hosting ICC Champions Trophy in June, and also multi-format series against  West Indies and South Africa ahead and also the Ashes tour in October.
